Reinforcement Mesh, Lintel Bar & Cages

Galvanized & black Reinforcement Mesh, Trench Mesh, Lintel Cage, Lintel Bar, Deformed rods, Angles, Flats & accessories

Steel reinforcement cage used in the construction of building foundations. The foundation site is surrounded by wooden shuttering and the steel cages are in the process of being laid out before the concrete is poured

Reinforcing steel bar cages, also called rebar cages, pile reinforcing cages, are mesh pads made of carbon steel bar by welding process into cage-shaped steel skeletons used in the pre-casting production of pits, covers and tunnels for reinforcement or to strengthen tendons of location bars. High-strength reinforcing steel mesh designed to add durability and crack control to concrete slabs. Commonly used in residential and commercial construction projects.

A lintel usually looks like a straight horizontal beam or support sitting directly above a window or door opening. Its exact appearance depends on the wall system and the material used. In some buildings, the lintel is visible. For example, above brick openings you may see a straight support line or a metal angle supporting the brickwork. In other buildings, the lintel is hidden behind render, cladding, plaster, or finishes, so it may not be obvious from the surface.

Due to the low tensile strength of concrete, trench mesh is used in strip footings to strengthen them up reducing the risk of shear. The size and width of the trench mesh depends on the engineering specification of a project. The specification is usually dictated by the load bearing capacity of the soil conditions on site.
